With Love, From Edo

Dear Subscriber,

African history is sparsely in the curriculum of most schools in Nigeria today. From the letters of our history books and perhaps the lips of our parents, we know though superficially, that Edo state is rich in culture, history, artefacts and finger-licking delicacies. But how deep is our knowledge and how much have we explored?

Thankfully, we are happy to answer these questions in the newsletter series: With Love, From Edo, wherein we’ll share with you a healthy cocktail of soft reads, exploring the rich, diverse and beautiful heritage that is Edo. As Kofi Annan, Former Secretary General of the United Nations said, “Knowledge is power and information is liberating”.

That said, we present to you the maiden edition of With Love, From Edo Tourism Newsletter. In this edition, we journey through the cultural district and ancestral home of Benin City, spotlighting sites, sounds and people’s heritage. This is only possible upon the birth of the Edo State Tourism Agency.

We implore you to look forward to subsequent newsletters, coming from the nucleus of African history. We assure you that the more that you read, the more things you will know and the more you learn, the more places you’ll go within Edo State.

Until next month,

With Love, From Edo!

Enjoy!
