Edo State Tourism Digest – Edition 11

Dear Subscriber,

33 Years of Heritage & Growth

Edo State @33 celebrates a legacy of cultural excellence, a rich history, and vibrant people who take pride in their heritage. The journey spans over 6,000 years, from the ancient Benin Empire, through the Southern Protectorate of Nigeria, the Western Region, Bendel State, to the now prestigious Edo State—known as the “Heartbeat of Nigeria.”

Recently, following his performance in India, Edo’s own Rema delivered an electrifying show at the Homecoming concert in Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. This event united the Sons and Daughters of the land, embodying the very spirit of Edo State. Edo State continues to impact the Creative Arts and Entertainment Industry, paving the way for future generations.

In this edition of “With Love from Edo”, we go down memory lane with one of our heroes Dr. J.U Aire, where he shares his nostalgia for the values of the past in the great Bendel State of yesteryears. As a former Commissioner for Trade and Industry and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, his brief but impactful chat is truly a collector’s item.
