THE UNITY BANK DIGEST – MARCH 01, 2018

Dear Subscriber,

In 2017, there were 5 million more mouths to feed, 11 million unemployed youths, and 60 million people living on less than $2/day. In the same year, the economy expanded by 0.83%, better than 2016, but still miles away from the 2012-15 growth average of 4.7%.

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this growth is so anemic, it will not move the needle of purchasing power and living standards.

This edition of the Unity Bank Digest contains a breakdown of the GDP numbers, highlighting what you need to know.

You will also find other stories such as an update on the National minimum wage, KFC’s conundrum and which Silicon Valley giant is being threatened by a Kardashian.
