The success of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The success of the film

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was scheduled for July 17, 2015, but in 2014 it was postponed to May 6, 2016. This happened due to the fact that Affleck (Batman) was injured and the entire film crew went on a short vacation.

But it was not the change itself that caused a new wave of comments in the media, but the date on which the film was postponed. After all, this date was first assigned to an unknown Marvel studio project, and then it was announced that May 6 would be the premiere for the third part of the Captain America film series.

As it became known, Marvel does not intend to concede the premiere date. Kevin Feige, the head of the company, told about this in an interview with SlashFilm.

"We will definitely reserve this date," Feige said. The president of Warner commented on the situation as follows:

"In August 2014, due to the high risk, Warner Brothers finally postponed the premiere date to March 25, 2016. The expected meeting of two films from different studios did not happen at the box office.

The official teaser for the film was released on April 17, 2015. In which the audience saw Ben Affleck in the role of Batman and Superman.

The first official trailer for the film was released in August 2015. It showed Wonder Woman, and after it, fans were confused and started coming up with various theories.

But after the second trailer, all the fans rushed to the DC studio and Zack Snyder, as all the plot twists were spoiled in it.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" received mostly negative reviews from film critics. On the Rotten Tomatoes review site, the tape has a rating of 29% (based on 294 reviews) and an average rating of 5/10. On Metacritic, the film received an average score of 44 out of 100 from film critics (based on 51 reviews).

The average rating of viewers on the IMDb website is 7.2 out of 10 (263,668 users). On Metacritic, the average user score is 7.2 (3697 ratings). Rotten Tomatoes shows that 68% of the audience loved Zack Snyder's film.

Perhaps because of this, the film did not receive the money it expected. The film grossed $166 million in North America and $422,500,000 worldwide in its first weekend, ranking it fourth on the list of films with the largest global box office opening weekend. As of April 30, 2016, the movie comic earned $855,322,593, which allowed it to take the second place among the highest-grossing films of the first four months of 2016.

Christian Bale's refusal to play the role of the Dark Knight was also a disappointment for fans.

"We've been incredibly lucky to have three Batman movies, and that's enough.

As for Ben Affleck, he stated that he expected such a reaction.

Another online hysteria arose over the controversial appointment of Lex Luthor to the role of Superman's main enemy. The role was given to 30-year-old Jesse Eisenberg. To all the reproaches, Snyder replied as follows:

"We know the material. Zimmer returned to writing music after working on Man of Steel, while emphasizing that he would not use the themes associated with Batman in the Nolan trilogy for the second time. A Batman-themed soundtrack created in collaboration with Junkie XL. The album was released on March 18, 2016.
