FDC COMMODITY UPDATE – APRIL 17, 2018

Coffee is widely consumed in Scandinavian countries where the sun never sets in the summer (land of the midnight sun). However, Nigerians consume 850 tonnes of coffee (only 0.01% of global consumption). Chocolate drinks and tea remain the top beverages.

Interestingly, shrimps and prawns are Nigeria’s third largest agricultural export with minimal multiplier effect. Trawling is expected to grow exponentially in the years ahead as oil pollution is drastically reduced in the Niger Delta.
